We read a lot of Dr. Seuss books around here and watch Cat in the Hat movie pretty often. Imagine my surprise when I read the quote on our bathroom calendar. (Yes, we have a bathroom calendar. It hangs on the closet door. Through the years Pete and I have written little notes of encouragement to each other in the little squares.)

Dearest Barb, My computer has crashed and I am at the mercy of friends to let me browse the internet on occasion, and without question, my first site to visit was yours. Has it truly been a year already? My heart pours love to you and your amazing family. I have posted to you on a few of your messages over the last year, and I write to you now with so much emotion. I am a mother of two young daughters, my husband and I do everything we can to guide them to grow into a loving and healthy life. What we plan, and what happens are two entirely different things, and I believe I keep returning to Laurie's site as proof that tomorrow is not promised to any of us, for any reason. May God's light shine on you, brightly, and may your love and dedication on behalf of your dear sweet daughter continue to allow you to help countless others. One of these days, I am going to reach out for you at Willow...I really think I need to meet you in person so you don't mistake me for some nut job on the net who keeps writing.... My thoughts and prayers are with you, this one year later! I knew Laurie from being a daily customer at Starbucks. I sure do miss her. I will never forget the imprints she left in my heart, my mind and my soul! I am so glad I had the chance to know her.
