Sweet Suite
First round of my meetings are over for today and Pete and I will be going out for dinner soon.
Last year at EDS I was mostly numb. It was ony two months after Laurie's death and some times I felt I could barely breathe. The best thing about our time in Las Vegas was Pete and I redoing our marriage vows at an Elvis Chapel. We "unofficialy" changed our wedding date from March 4th to May 5th with a small group of family, friends and co-workers. It was a fun memory in an otherwise, dismal time.
This year things started off a little bumpy. Pete left his jacket and sunglasses at O'Hare, then his phone would not work when we landed. At check-in at Bally's at 11:00 pm their time, 1:00 AM Chicago time (flight delay) we are told our reserved smoking room is not available. Oy. But not to worry, for the night we can have a suite instead...Oh, okay. This suite was breathtaking! A living room, a dining area, a huge bar, two separate bathrooms, a mini gym, a hot tub up two marble steps...beautiful flowers everywhere. What a sweet suite! We giggled discovering each new ammenity. Now this is the life.
But all good things come to an end and we are now in a regular (nice enough) room. Just for fun, Pete called down to the front desk to ask the rate for that amazing place. The frontdesk said those suites are usually for the big spenders, high rollers and just occasionally for lucky folks like us, but if they charged the room rate would be $2000 a night! How fun for us. Pictures to follow when we get home.
